To all that are considering have Dr Jim Kokkinakis at The Eye Practice look after their optical and dry eye treatment needs, I encourage anyone to absolutely 100% book an appointment and have a consultation with Dr Jim, he is extremely knowledgeable, in fact the only professional that helped with my dry eye needs, he 100% diagnosed the issue that was contributing to my difficulties, and has completed the first round of recommended treatments, and my improvement in my optical needs has been amazing, I can not thank Dr Jim enough, and he is without question completely compassionate and professional at the same time, and anyone wanting that extra mile to get to the bottom of your optical needs, he is absolutely the Doctor to go to, and the staff in the office are always willing to help, and I won't be going anywhere else as I have found the best optical service, no doubt about it, and I travel from Newcastle to Sydney also, and it's worth every kilometer travelled to have Dr Kokkinakis treat me.

I recently booked into see Dr. Jim Kokkinakis at the Eye Practice in Sydney. A few years previously, I had loosely been given the prognosis of Keratoconus. Well, needless to say, this easily offered, blasé, comment given to me by the optometrist at a laser eye clinic, sent me into a bit of a spin. Of course, I played Dr. Google, went down the rabbit hole, and got myself well and truly into what I thought, was a state of disrepair. After some encouragement from my girlfriend, I decided to get a professional opinion on the matter. It was here I found Dr. Kokkinakis and The Eye Practice. Their great website, along with its treasure trove of information on Keratoconus, free literature, and Jim’s obviously extensive knowledge of the condition and links with the University of NSW immediately grabbed my attention. It was while reading some of the free literature and blogs that I came across a statement from Jim, stating that delivering the diagnosis was just as much about the psychology of delivering the prognosis as much as the diagnosis itself! Well, as if I needed anymore reassurance that I was going to see the right man for the job, there it was. Needless to say, I was a little apprehensive on the day. But, I needn’t have been. The whole team was welcoming from the start and Jim immediately made me feel at ease. He delivered the reassurance I needed in a relaxed but professional manor. He answered all of my questions and I even found myself enjoying the conversation on the complex intricacies of the condition. His passion and care shone through. He let my girlfriend sit in on the consultation, which helped immensely as I sometimes struggle to retain information in these settings. Keratoconus is a MASSIVELY understudied eye condition, and Dr. Jim Kokkinakis’s expertise on the matter were, and are, invaluable to me. I walked out of that consultation a new man. I now know that I do, in fact, have keratoconus. But I also now know, that it is not the death sentence I once feared. I cannot recommend Dr. Jim Kokkinakis and the Eye Practice enough.
